2001: Was elected as a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale), the world's premier design organization.
2004: Works permanently preserved in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France as "Books of recent excellence in print and design."
2007: Invited to participate in "Rakki-Rakkusyo" at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, a design facility in Tokyo Midtown. (planned by Issey Miyake) at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, a design facility in Tokyo Midtown. Concurrently, he held an exhibition of his works, "Rakki-Rakkusyo by Issei Kitagawa. 2008: Works exhibited at the Frieze Art Fair 2008, one of the three major art festivals in the world, held in London. 2011: "TOKYO GRAPHIC PASSPORT at CENTRE POMPIDOU" at the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, France.
2013: Exhibition "Issei Kitagawa" at "ART FAIR TOKYO 2013".
2018: Works exhibited as a unit of "GRAPH+Spatial Concept" at "Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2018", an art festival held once every three years.
2020: The Japan Space Design Association and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Environment Design Association will sponsor the "GRAPH + Spatial Concept" unit. 2020 Served as a jury member for the Japan Spatial Design Award, the only and most significant spatial award in Japan, sponsored by the Japan Spatial Design Association and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Environment Design Association.
