Naufrage ‘In Situ’
DETAILS OF THE WORK
Naufrage ‘In Situ’ revisits the original work through the possibilities of virtual and augmented reality. Naufrage was a music video released in 2020. The music was composed by Variéras, the dance was performed by Nisan Berkol and the visuals were made by Luigi Honorat.
With this new iteration, the performance can now be experienced from within, not just from a fixed point. There are 2 new versions, the augmented reality version is displayed at Parco’s Nakashibu Street in Shibuya, Tokyo. The virtual reality version can be experienced from anywhere with a VR Headset or directly in a web browser.
Both versions are composed of 3 parts. An animated excerpt from Nisan’s performance, 5 pseudo sculptures extracted from the whole performance and a mise en abyme of the original video.

Luigi (b.1986, Paris) is a visual artist based in Tokyo. He was trained as a sculptor at Musashino Art University, where he currently holds a position as a lecturer. His practice explores the medium of physical matter and CGI, using computer graphics to search for
new sculptural forms, movements and processes. His work investigates the balance between the slow pace and proximity to materials of physical sculpting and the very fast pace of digital sculpting and rendering. His practice explores the meaning of reality
and virtuality, matter and data, beauty and the uncanny.
