OTHER PERSPECTIVE

DETAILS OF THE WORK

AWARDS 2019 FINALISTS

A project that challenges the extent to which one can feel scale in a VR space. A single planet drifting in space is expressed by a gigantic 'cube' which is composed of other cubes. Participants' points of view will automatically shift, like they are moving around the outer circumference of the cube, and then they will penetrate the interior. Inside the interior, a gigantic lens structure, which serves as the cubes core, is seen towering. Participants' points of view will go through the structures one after the other, and the project will end once they have passed through the whole cube. Incredibly small cube particles appear throughout the experience, making the large cube stand out relative to its size, and providing a way for the participants to feel where and how fast their point of view is traveling. From the caps between the smaller cubes that make up the large cube, the vast cosmic landscape spreads out along with small cube particles. The perspective will move in a set course every time, however the scenery will completely change based on the direction the participants' want to face.
