Learning XR as Comprehensive Art in Experiential Design – A New School of Expression: NEWVIEW SCHOOL JAPAN

For the 2024 academic year, NEWVIEW SCHOOL, a school for new forms of expression, has been repeatedly experimenting and practicing with a curriculum centered on spatial computing. We are hosting a graduation exhibition where you can experience the works of the 6th batch of students. We invite you to come and experience it.

About SCHOOL Exhibition

  •

    The 2024 edition of NEWVIEW SCHOOL took place across four cities—Tokyo, New York, Bangkok, and Singapore—centered around the theme of spatial computing. After approximately six months of experiments and practice, the graduating works of Japan’s 6th cohort will finally be unveiled. Under the guidance of instructors at the forefront of art and culture, the students explored questions and challenges surrounding the potential of next-generation expression. Experience the diverse creations of the 6th cohort, showcasing seeds of creativity that give rise to new worlds, through hands-on demonstrations with Apple Vision Pro devices.

    ※ Experiences with Apple Vision Pro will be available by reservation (same-day reservations accepted).
    ※ The work by student and finalist Megumu Hanayama, "RESORACLE ─ Heartbeat Verification System ─", will be available for experience at SHIBUYA PARCO B1F "GALLERY X".

NEWVIEW System for Developing the Next-Generation of xR Artists

  • 01. AR and VR Joint Curriculum

    Starts with basic lectures on how to design experiences in 3D. Participants learn about expression in works through both AR and VR .

  • 02. Early Online Study about the Basics of Tools

    An online learning environment (NVS Online) has been created to allow participants to study how to use production tools like STYLY and Unity prior to attending the main NEWVIEW SCHOOL program. We encourage early online self-study and some prior knowledge of these tools to help participants to better focus on learning more about xR expressions from our world-class lecturers.

  • 03. Seminar System

    Learn about xR expressions from professional xR artists and creators who share their insights as lecturers. Feedback and knowledge sharing is a key proponent of the seminar system where our lecturers not only share their ideas, but also participants are encouraged to share their creative work with lecturers and other participants in a unique exchange experience.

  • 04. Technical Support

    Support is provided to all participants. Our staff are available to assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with STYLY and Unity tools.
