OTHER PERSPECTIVE
DETAILS OF THE WORK
"This work is an experiment to embody the ambitious goal of ""dancing with architecture."" Just as a dance battle is a confrontation with people and space, architecture, too, engages in dialogue as a component of space—interacting with humans, objects, and the ""in-between"" spaces they create. In this project, we explore new relationships by connecting stationary architecture and space through ""movement"" and ""the body.""
Even as an unfinished prototype, this attempt carries the potential for future architectural expressions. Within the work, you can experience a sense of interaction with objects by ""hitting the wall"" in a manner reminiscent of the Fresno move in POPPIN'. As an advanced application, it can also be used for practicing hand waves.
Please note that this work produces sound, so be mindful of the volume."
CREATOR PROFILE
eriko
Japan
I focus on architectural informatics as the foundation of my research and creative activities. After studying architectural and urban design, I am now a faculty member in the Department of Information Media. I have a deep passion for street dance and HIPHOP culture, and I am exploring new possibilities for creative expression where architecture and dance resonate through space. My goal is to expand the relationship between the body and space, envisioning a scenario where architecture and dance can truly "battle" each other. I value the discoveries and insights that emerge from creating new connections between dance and architecture.
