"Everyday scenery constructs new stories when viewed from a new perspective."
This project seeks to uncover the hidden possibilities within urban landscapes. By vertically tilting the streets of Shibuya and reconstructing them as a pinball-like platform, the city itself transforms into a playground.
Viewers drop balls onto the platform, producing sound and discovering the "new expressions" of the cityscape in each fleeting moment.
Just as people in ancient times imagined the shape of a dragon when viewing Amanohashidate upside-down, changing perspectives has allowed humanity to uncover extraordinary beauty and narratives within the ordinary.
This work recreates such an experience in a modern urban space, offering new possibilities for interpretation through both sight and sound.
Each time a ball collides with a city landmark, it produces a tone in harmony with the background music's key, using the pentatonic scale. This ensures that even when sounds overlap, no dissonance occurs, creating a harmonious and balanced auditory experience.
